A small flock of Shetland sheep grace the pastures of Maple Hill Farm. The sheep are pastured using *Managed Intensive Grazing*, a system that utilizes pasture forage in a sustainable manner.
The sheep year begins with the shearing of the wooley winter coats in March. Careful management of pastures the prior grazing season is translated into the quality of the wools fibers. Once relieved of their wool coats the sheep begin converting lush pasture into next years wool hat or mittens.
